1. Accepting these terms
By creating a KuyaFix account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use KuyaFix.
We introduce homeowners to independent repairmen and keep the record of what was agreed. We are not the one doing the repair, and we are not the repairman's employer. Payment is cash, directly between you, after the work is confirmed. Treat each other fairly and tell us when something goes wrong.
2. Who may use KuyaFix
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract under Philippine law.
- You must be located in the Philippines. KuyaFix covers the whole country — there is no city-by-city rollout and no waitlist.
- You may hold only one account, and it must be in your own real name.
- If you are using KuyaFix on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these terms.
3. What KuyaFix is — and isn't
KuyaFix is a marketplace. We provide the place where homeowners describe work they need done and independent repairmen offer to do it, along with the tools to communicate, agree a price, and record what happened.
When a homeowner accepts a repairman's offer, the contract for that repair is between the homeowner and the repairman. KuyaFix is not a contractor, repair company, employer, agent, insurer, or guarantor of either party.
Specifically, KuyaFix does not:
- employ repairmen, or control how, when, or in what order they do their work;
- set or guarantee prices — repairmen quote their own, homeowners choose freely;
- supervise, direct, inspect, or warrant the quality, safety or legality of any work performed;
- guarantee that a job will attract offers, or that a repairman will find work;
- currently conduct criminal background checks or licence verification on repairmen. Where a job legally requires a licensed professional, it is the homeowner's responsibility to ask for and verify that licence, and the repairman's responsibility to hold it.
Repairmen are independent workers. They supply their own tools, decide their own schedules, are free to work on and off KuyaFix, and are solely responsible for their own taxes, permits, licences and any insurance. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture or franchise relationship.
4. Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your Google credentials secure. Tell us immediately at support@kuyafix.ph if you think someone else has used your account.
Keep your profile accurate — especially your mobile number and address, which the other party relies on to reach you. Do not impersonate anyone, create an account for someone else, or use a false name.
5. Posting a job
If you post a job, you agree to:
- Describe the problem honestly, including anything that affects difficulty, safety or access — for example a unit on the fourth floor with no lift, or a known electrical fault.
- Post only work you are entitled to have done at that property. If you rent, get your landlord's permission first.
- Be there, or arrange for an adult to be there at the agreed schedule, and give the repairman safe access to the work area.
- Pay the agreed amount in full, in cash, once you have confirmed the work is done.
- Confirm or dispute within 48 hours of the repairman marking the job as fixed. If you do neither, the job closes automatically — but that does not remove your obligation to pay, nor your rights under the Consumer Act for defective work.
Budget ranges are an indication, not a commitment. You are not obliged to accept any offer, and posting a job costs nothing.
6. Working as a repairman
If you switch on Repair Repairman Mode and send offers, you agree to:
- Only offer on work you are competent and, where required by law, licensed to perform. Electrical and similar regulated work must be done by someone qualified to do it.
- Quote honestly and completely. Your offer should cover the work as described, including who buys which materials. Do not quote low to win a job and raise the price at the door.
- Show up at the schedule you agreed, or tell the homeowner as early as possible if you cannot.
- Work safely, respect the home you are in, and clean up after yourself.
- Mark a job fixed only when it is actually fixed, with honest after-photos.
- Handle your own obligations — taxes, contributions, permits, licences and insurance are yours, not ours.
If the job turns out to be materially different from what was posted, stop and agree a revised price with the homeowner in the app chat before continuing. Do not perform extra work and bill for it afterwards.
7. Fees and payment
7.1 Payment on completion
When accepting an offer, the homeowner chooses how they will pay. Either way, nothing is charged before the job is done.
- Cash — paid directly by the homeowner to the repairman after the homeowner confirms the work in the app. KuyaFix does not handle cash payments.
- GCash — when the homeowner marks the job done, they pay the agreed price through our payment processor, PayMongo, approving the amount in their GCash. KuyaFix collects that payment and forwards the repairman's share (after the fees in §7.2) to the repairman's registered GCash number, normally within minutes. KuyaFix does not hold payment before the job is marked done.
Repairmen are responsible for keeping their GCash number correct. A payout sent to the number on the repairman's account is final, and KuyaFix cannot recover money sent to a number the repairman entered incorrectly.
7.2 Fees
Homeowners pay no fees. The homeowner pays exactly the price in the accepted offer, by cash or GCash.
Cash jobs: the repairman keeps 100% of the price. KuyaFix takes no commission.
GCash jobs: the following are deducted from the repairman's payout — the payment processor's GCash fee (2.5%), the KuyaFix platform fee (5%) and the transfer fee to GCash (₱10). The repairman sees the exact amount they will receive before sending an offer, and the rates in force when an offer is accepted apply to that job.
| Example GCash job | Amount |
|---|---|
| Homeowner pays | ₱1,500.00 |
| GCash processing (2.5%) | − ₱37.50 |
| KuyaFix platform fee (5%) | − ₱75.00 |
| Transfer to GCash | − ₱10.00 |
| Repairman receives | ₱1,377.50 |
Posting a job, sending offers, chatting and using the app are otherwise free — there is no subscription. We may change these rates for future jobs; jobs already booked keep the rates they were booked with.
7.3 Materials
Materials are agreed within the offer, which states who buys what. KuyaFix does not supply materials, does not mark them up, and charges no fee on them.
7.4 Taxes
Each party is responsible for their own tax obligations on amounts they receive. Repairmen should keep their own records of income earned through the platform.
8. Cancellations
Plans change, and cancelling is allowed. But once an offer is accepted, a repairman has turned down other work to hold that slot — so late cancellations carry a fee.
| When you cancel | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before any offer is accepted | Free. Close the job any time. |
| More than 4 hours before the agreed schedule | Free. |
| Within 4 hours of the schedule, or after the repairman has started | A late-cancellation fee applies: the greater of ₱150 or 10% of the agreed price, capped at ₱500. |
The exact amount is shown to you before you confirm the cancellation. The same rules apply to a repairman who cancels late, and repeated late cancellations by either side affect your completion rate and may lead to suspension under section 13.
No fee applies where cancellation is caused by something outside your control — illness, an accident, flooding, a typhoon, or the other party failing to show up. Tell us and we will waive it.
9. Ratings and reviews
After a job is paid, the homeowner may rate the repairman. Ratings are public on the repairman's profile and are a core part of how trust works here. Repairmen do not rate homeowners: a rating you could lose for leaving an honest review would not be an honest review. A repairman who has a problem with a job reports it to us privately instead, and we act on it — see section 11.
- Rate honestly, based on your own direct experience of that job.
- Do not offer, request, or accept anything in exchange for a rating; do not threaten a bad review to obtain a discount or extra work.
- Reviews must not contain personal data of others, abuse, discriminatory language, or anything unlawful.
We do not edit reviews to make anyone look better. We may remove a review that breaks these rules or the law, and we may remove ratings obtained through manipulation.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload — job descriptions, photos, messages and reviews. You grant KuyaFix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating, securing and improving the service, and for the duration described in our retention policy.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, that your photos do not capture other people without their knowledge, and that your content does not infringe anyone's rights.
We do not use your job photos in advertising or marketing without asking you first.
11. Rules of conduct
Do not use KuyaFix to:
- harass, threaten, discriminate against, or endanger anyone;
- post false, misleading, or fraudulent jobs or offers;
- request or perform illegal work, or work requiring a licence you do not hold;
- solicit users to move an introduced job off-platform to avoid the service fee, after contact was made through KuyaFix;
- collect other users' personal data, scrape the service, or use bots;
- create multiple or fake accounts, or manipulate ratings;
- interfere with, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems;
- infringe intellectual property rights or breach any Philippine law.
Report anything that breaks these rules from the job screen, or to support@kuyafix.ph. If you are in immediate danger, contact the authorities first — call 911.
12. Disputes between users
Because the repair contract is between the homeowner and the repairman, a disagreement about the work is primarily between the two of you, and we encourage you to sort it out in the job chat first.
If you cannot, either side may raise a dispute from the job screen — normally within the 48-hour confirmation window. When a dispute is opened, the job is frozen and our support team may review the job's chat history, photos and timeline to help you reach a resolution.
We may waive our service fee, adjust a cancellation fee, or take action against an account. We cannot order anyone to pay or refund money, and our involvement does not make us a party to your contract or prevent either of you from pursuing your legal remedies — including your rights under Republic Act No. 7394, the Consumer Act of the Philippines.
13. Suspension and closure
You may close your account at any time — see our account deletion page. You cannot close an account with a job in progress or an open dispute; finish or cancel it first.
We may suspend or terminate an account, with notice where practicable, if you breach these terms, if we reasonably believe your conduct puts other users at risk or exposes us to legal liability, or if required by law. Where the breach is not serious, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it.
Sections 10, 14, 15, 16 and 18 survive termination.
14. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law, the KuyaFix platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will connect you with a suitable counterparty.
We make no warranty as to the skill, honesty, licensing, punctuality or conduct of any user, or as to the quality, safety, timeliness or legality of any work performed or any materials supplied. User profiles, ratings and job descriptions are created by users, not verified by us.
You decide who to let into your home, and who to work for. Read the profile, read the reviews, ask questions in the chat, and trust your judgement.
Nothing in this section excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and nothing limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Limitation of liability
Subject to section 14, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, KuyaFix is not liable for:
- loss, damage, injury or expense arising from work performed or not performed by a repairman, or from the conduct of any user — online or in person;
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or loss of profit, income, data or goodwill;
- a counterparty's failure to show up, to pay, or to complete a job.
Where we are found liable notwithstanding the above, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to a particular job is limited to the service fee we actually charged for that job, or ₱2,500, whichever is greater.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold KuyaFix harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising out of your use of the service, your breach of these terms or of any law, your content, or any job you posted, offered on, or performed — except to the extent it results from our own negligence or wrongdoing.
17. Changes
We may update these terms as the service develops. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. For material changes — including any change to fees or cancellation charges — we will give you at least 14 days' notice in the app or by email before they take effect.
Changes never apply retroactively to a job that was already accepted; the terms in force when the offer was accepted govern that job. Continuing to use KuyaFix after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, you may close your account.
We may also change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. If we discontinue KuyaFix entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Before going to court, please email us — most problems are quicker to fix that way. If a dispute between you and KuyaFix cannot be resolved informally, it shall be brought exclusively before the competent courts of Quezon City, Metro Manila, without prejudice to any non-waivable right you have to bring a consumer complaint before the Department of Trade and Industry or another proper forum.
If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
